Mr. Hershel McPherson, age 76 of Beaverdam Community of Clarendon died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center in Whiteville. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Buddy Seay and Reverend William Jackie Godwin officiating. Interment will follow in the McPherson Cemetery. He was a retired farmer and was the son of the late Coley and Vannie Cartrette McPherson. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Rossie McPherson, J.C. McPherson and Mildred McPherson. He is survived by his wife, Doris Ann Hinson McPherson of the home; a daughter, Sharon McPherson Parker of Clarendon; sisters, Eunice M. Hinson of High Point and Alene M. Cribb of Chadbourn; brothers, Melton McPherson of Clarendon and Bobby McPherson of Chadbourn; 2 grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
