Hazel Edwards Babson, 88, of Bladenboro, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Liberty Commons Nursing Center.
Hazel was born on November 2, 1937, daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Edwards and Edna Ransom Edwards. In addition, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Babson; granddaughter, Amber Paige Babson; sister, Lois Ann Smith.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Mt. Calvary Original Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery (69 Mt. Calvary Road, Clarkton). The family will speak to friends at the cemetery.
Hazel was a hard worker; she worked in the textiles industry for many years. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Hazel enjoyed cooking and attending church at Mt. Calvary Original Free Will Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
To cherish her memory, Hazel leaves behind her son, David Earl Babson (Rhonda) of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren, Amanda Everette (Harvey); great-grandchildren, Will McClure, Kalli McClure, Holden Everette, Beah Everette; siblings, J.C. Edwards of Whiteville, Horace Edwards, Kenneth Edwards (Bonnie), all of Bladenboro, Murtice Ransom of Clarkton, Debbie Edwards (Delbert), Faye Brown (L.T.), all of Bladenboro; brother-in-law, Murphy Smith of Bladenboro; host of loving nieces and nephews.
