Gwendolyn Lee (Smith) Strickland

Gwendolyn Smith Strickland, age 87 of Chadbourn, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at her home.

Gwen was born April 13, 1935, daughter of the late Goodman E. Smith and Cora Lee White Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Clyde Strickland, who preceded her in 2003; siblings, Jerry Smith, JoeNeil Smith, and Mona Faye Williams.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Lamont Hemminger. 

Survivors include her son, Michael Lloyd Strickland (Jennifer); grandchildren, Michael Brent Strickland (Anna) of Clarkton, Christy Strickland (Brian) of Hallsboro; great-grandchildren, Kayley Strickland, Kody Strickland, Kennedy Strickland, Kamdyn Strickland, Mason Strickland, Brylan Register, Gabriel Strickland; sister, Rita Gail Monk of Chadbourn.
