Gary Wayne Cartrette

Gary Wayne Cartrette, age 63 of Chadbourn, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday January 11, 2022, at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Cartrette and Pastor Buddy Seay officiating.  Interment will follow in the McPherson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

He was the son of the late Floyd Dale Cartrette and Mary Eliza McPherson Cartrette.  He was also preceded in death by a brother in 2013, Kenneth Ray Cartrette.

Gary is survived by his wife, Clara Lynn Soles Cartrette of the home; two siblings, Sally K. Nance (Lonnie) of Chadbourn and Roger Dale Cartrette (Wannell) of Clarendon; even though Gary no grandchildren, he treated all his nieces, nephews, and cousins as his own grandchildren, whom he cherished.
