Gary Lee Cowell, age 70 of Chadbourn, died on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC.

Gary was born on September 10, 1951, in New Jersey, to the late Alonzo and Gladys Eleanor Martin Crowell; He was also preceded in death by his companion, Karen Comfort.

Services will be held at a later date.

Survivors include his sons, Robert Allen Crowell, of Auburn, NY, Clarence Eugene Crowell, of Chadbourn; siblings, Sonny Crowell of Florida, Scottie Weaks of New Orleans, Shirley Crowell of New Orleans, Diane Bensley of Florida, Bobbie Crowell of New Orleans; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Crowell, Arairana Crowell, Jade Crowell, Alexis Crowell, Robert Crowell, Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren.

Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn is serving the family.
