Fannie Ellen (Powell) Blackwell

Fannie Ellen Powell Blackwell, age 81 of the Cedar Grove Community in Cerro Gordo, heard the call from Heaven’s Portals on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Fannie was born on May 12, 1940 to the late Clarence and China Strickland Powell. She was also preceded by her beloved husband, Billy Blackwell; her siblings, Walton Gordon “Dock” Powell, Wilbur T. Powell, Stoney Joe Powell, and Exlee P. Norris.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Jeff Stocks officiating. Interment will follow in the Gowan Cemetery, Cerro Gordo.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday evening, at the funeral home.

Fannie was a faithful member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, of which she served in various roles over the years, including choir member and WMU.

Fannie leaves behind her three daughters, Linda B. Britt (Gary) of Chadbourn, Cindy B. Harrelson- Ward (Doug) of Cerro Gordo and Lisa B. McKee (Keith) of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren, Brittany Britt, Brandon McKee (Caroline), Channing Harrelson, Chelsea Britt, and Logan McKee (Kourtney); great-grandchildren, Olivia Harrelson, Skylar Britt, Aubree Harrelson, Ryleigh Dawson, Billy McKee, Caison Harrelson, and Hadley McKee; sisters, Carrie P. Blackwell, and Kitty P. Graves, both of Cerro Gordo.
