Evelyn (Green) Hinson

Evelyn Green Hinson age 95 of Cerro Gordo went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab in Whiteville.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Stocks officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30, prior to the graveside, at the funeral home.

She was the widow of Connie Hinson who preceded her in 2007; and the daughter of the late Neil Montgomery Green and Rose Elizabeth Strickland. She was also preceded in death by twelve siblings, Howard Green, Neil Green, Charles Green, Kate Strickland, Lee Strickland, Susie Green, Hazel Miller, Jewel Britt, Thelma Hayes, Albertine Hayes, W.J. Strickland, and Marshall D. Green; and a granddaughter, Tonya Wilson. 

She is survived by a son, Rudolph Hinson of Cerro Gordo; two daughters, Peggy H. Wilson of Evergreen, and Ernestine H. McLelland (Joel) of Cerro Gordo; siblings, Shirley Hildelta of Wadesboro, Helen Fairfax of Cerro Gordo, and Annie Parker of Clarendon;  six grandchildren, Dion Wilson (Cynthia), Donnie Wilson, Anthony McLelland, Jeremy McLelland (Tommie Lynn), Stephen Hinson (Miranda) and Connie Hinnant (Lynn); and several great-grandchildren.
