Mrs. Ethel Marie Walker Aylesworth, age 81 of Orlando, FL and formerly of Columbus County died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Family Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Chancie and Lula Mae Westbrook Walker of Chadbourn and the widow of Phillip E. Aylesworth. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Gail Tedder and four siblings, William White Walker, Clara Porter, Elizabeth Payne, and Mattie Zudie Nealy. She is survived by sisters, Alice W. Romig of Atlanta, GA, Jane W. Romig of Orlando, FL, Rebecca W. Brozozowski of Orlando, FL, and Miriam W. Tedder of Shallotte; brothers, Harvey Paul Walker of Chadbourn and James Chancie Buddy Walker of Goose Creek, SC; and two grandsons. Memorial may be made to Shelter Rock (Appalachian Relief), Post Office 1158, Boone, NC 28607. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
