Elvie Lee Patrick Young, age 87 of Council, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at her home.

Mrs. Young was born on June 7, 1938, in Bladen County, to the late William and Addie Patrick.  She was the widow of Franklin “Junior” Young who preceded her on January 20, 2020.  She was also preceded in death by several siblings.

To cherish her memory, she leaves behind five children, Franklin D. Young of Council, Debra Y. Sholar (Glenn) of Wallace, Anthony "Tony" Young of Council, Beverly "Belle" Y. Jacobs (Stevie) of Bolton, Ida Y. Castro (Oscar) of Delco; a sister, Joyce Patrick Brown of Bolton; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Worthington Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Whiteville Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Jorge Beaute officiating.
