Obituary

Edwin Keith “Butch” Johnson, age 67 of Chadbourn, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC.

“Butch”, as he was affectionately known, was born on February 17, 1953 to the late Leggett Johnson and Edna Earl Buffkin Johnson-Britt. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Haleigh Slusher and Landis Nix.        

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in the Avant Cemetery- 11315 Haynes Lennon Highway, Evergreen, NC; Rev. Tim Moore will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Kay Sutton Johnson of the home; children: Bree Johnson of White Lake, Keith Johnson (Tiffany) of Raleigh, Shelley Nix (Michael) of Evergreen, Jody Johnson (Jessica) of McColl, SC, Travis Johnson (Crystal) of Cerro Gordo, and Louann Johnson of the home. Grandchildren include Will Williams, Nicole Creech, Darin Ford, Hunter Lefevre, Caine Johnson, Locklyn Johnson, Austin Lanier, Kenzie Nix, Morgan Nix, Addy Grace Hood, Drake Johnson, Tensley Johnson, and Brayden Price.  Butch also leaves behind three siblings: Diane Rabon of Cerro Gordo, Rodney Field of Ocean Isle Beach, and Bill Britt (David) of Raleigh.
