Edgar Devon Hinson

Edgar Devon Hinson, age 85 of the Beaverdam Community in Chadbourn, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 17, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Edgar was born on September 18, 1935, in Columbus County, to the late Alvie Devine Hinson and Eva McPherson Hinson and the husband of the late Eloise Cribb Hinson. He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Devon Hinson; siblings, Agnes McPherson, and Ruth Jean McPherson.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Hinson Cemetery with Pastor Buddy Seay officiating.

The service will be streamed on the Worthington Funeral Home Facebook page.

Edgar is survived by his daughters, Geraldine “Jerrie” Hinson (Robert) of Clarendon, Robin H. Reaves (Jerry) of Nakina; siblings, Oscar Odell Hinson of Chadbourn, Hazel McPherson of Chadbourn, Reba Newman of Whiteville, Margie Izzo (Anthony) of Tar Heel; grandchildren, Jonathan Reaves (Alison), Kristin Sellars (Nathan), Blake Hinson (Danelle); great-grandchildren, Clyde Sellars, Wyatt Hinson, and Scarlett Sellars.
