Douglas Wayne Harrelson

Douglas Wayne Harrelson, age 76 of Whiteville, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center “Angel House” in Whiteville, NC.

Wayne was born on September 23, 1945, to Alma Fannie O’Conner Harrelson of Lake Waccamaw and the late Joe Dean Harrelson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Bryon Harrelson; brother, Rodney Harrelson.

Wayne was employed at International Paper for over 23 years.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service.

In addition to this mother, he is survived by his loving wife, of 27 years, Reva Gay Privett Harrelson of the home; daughter, Courtney Dawn Harrelson of Cary; stepdaughter, Katherine Kiser Berrian of Louisiana; grandchildren, Brian Saltalamacchia, Jr., Nathaniel Saltalamacchia Speares, Savannah Saltalamacchia and Antonio Saltalamacchia; great-grandchildren, Carson Spears and Bradley Spears, niece, LaDonna Harrelson Stoll (John) of Whiteville.
