Dorothy Elizabeth Lynn Smithers, age 96 of Whiteville, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Shoreland Healthcare in Whiteville.

Dorothy was born on November 1, 1925, in Columbus County, to the late James Carl and Willa Mae Pridgen Lynn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Charles Smithers, Sr.; her son, Norbert Charles Smithers, Jr.; siblings, Willa Jeno Smithers Jordan, Walling Lynn, James Lynn, and Samuel Lynn.

Graveside services will be private.

Surviving family includes her son-in-law, Robert Jordan; granddaughter, Melissa Smithers Luago; great-grandchild, Danniel Smithers Luago.
