Mrs. Dorothy Lee Jenkins Strickland, age 76 of Cerro Gordo died Saturday, February 06, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Stocks and Reverend Hubert McCleney officiating. Interment will follow in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Colonel Henry and Mildred Mabel Ellis Jenkins. Mrs. Strickland retired as secretary at West Columbus High School in Cerro Gordo after 33 years of service and previously was employed at the ASCS Office in Whiteville. She is survived by her husband, Harry Richard Strickland, Sr. of the home; two sons, Harry Ricky Richard Strickland, Jr. and his wife, Vicki of Cerro Gordo and Gregory Greg Marshall Strickland and his wife, Trina of Cerro Gordo; a sister, Margaret J. Green of Cerro Gordo; a brother, Henry D. Jenkins of Cerro Gordo; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
