Doris Jeanette Moss Priest, 83, of Lake Waccamaw, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in the Novant-New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Doris was born on March 16, 1942, daughter of the late Charlie Osten Moss and Jessie Dorothea Cribb Moss. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne Priest; siblings, Clara Moss Formyduval, James O. Moss; son, Robert Priest, Jr; granddaughter, Star G. Zyzyk.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Hallsboro United Methodist Church with Dr. Mark Hicks officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service, in the fellowship hall. 

Doris was a graduate of East Carolina University, earning a Masters of Social Work. She attended the Hallsboro United Methodist Church. 

Doris leaves behind her daughter, Patricia "Tric" Lynn Zyzyk (Thomas); special son, Donald W.  Smith of Carolina Beach; sister, Diane Carteret of Ocean Isle Beach; grandchildren, Robert Wayne Priest, III (Jolene) of Shippenville, PA, Zachery W. Zyzyk (Virginia) of Alexandria, VA, Charlie K. V. Zyzyk of Arlington, VA, Stormy Zyzyk (Michael) of Virginia Beach, VA; great-grandchildren, Jayden N. Zyzyk, Tala A. Zyzyk, Bryer J. Priest, Paisley G. Priest.
