Doris Faye (Walters) Powell

Doris Faye Walters Powell, age 83 of Cerro Gordo, died on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC.

Doris was born on March 26, 1938. She the widow of James Marshall Powell and was preceded in death by her siblings, Oliver Walters, Mary Powell, and Teddy Obershea.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Moore officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 pm on Tuesday prior to the service at Worthington Funeral Home.

Survivors include a son, James “Randy” Powell (Carolyn) of Chadbourn; two daughters, Marsha Powell Beatty (Michael) of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Monica Powell Jenkins of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren, Bryan Powell (Amy), Jessica Ward, and Brandon Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Kaine Powell, Randy Jace Caulder, Jake Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Graycee Jaims Blackwell, Addalynn Jenkins, Austin Garrell; siblings, Jean Smith of Fayetteville, Branda Krik (Bill) of Troy, and Meredith Edge of Conway.
