Mr. Donald Ray Norris, age 73 of Cerro Gordo died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Worthington Funeral Home with Dr. Ray Lundy officiating. Interment will follow in the Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery. He was the son of the late Johnny Clarence and Lillie Grainger Norris. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Ray Norris and a daughter, Glenda Ray Norris. He is survived by his companion of 35 years, Frances Rebecca Smith of the home; five daughters, Beverly N. Cooke of Cerro Gordo, Deborah N. Dyson of Fair Bluff, Donna N. Haynes of Nichols, SC, Samantha N. West of Fair Bluff, and Tracy N. Canady of Whiteville; two sons, Monty Norris of Cerro Gordo and Delane Smith of Chadbourn; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
