Derby Chester Sykes, age 33 of Bladenboro passed on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his residence. 

Derby was born on May 8, 1987 in Whiteville.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dianne Judson and grandfather, Derby Cletus Sykes. 

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Memory Lane Cemetery in Bladenboro with Reverend Tommy Simmons officiating.

Survivors include his children, Shane Anthony Sykes, Elijah James Christian, Morgan Nicole Taylor and Jordyn Ciera Sellers all of Bladenboro; his mother and step-father, Angela Lynn Hester Hughes and Michael Hughes of Shallotte; his father, Chester Brigg Sykes of Bladenboro; siblings, Adam Sykes of Clarkton, Andre’ D. Sykes (Amanda) of Hallsboro and Jessica L. Sykes (Lamont) of Bladenboro; grandparents, Thomas William Judson and his wife Elizabeth of Bladenboro and Virginia Sykes of Bladenboro; and a special uncle, Darrell Hester and his wife, Lauren of Bladenboro..
