Darryl Carter

Darryl Carter, age 61 of Evergreen, slipped into eternal peace on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, in Wilmington, NC. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday,October 30, 2023 at Worthington Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Singletary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at Worthington Funeral Home. 

A native of Columbus County, Darryl was born on October 1, 1962, to the late James “Pat” Patrick & Patricia “Trish” Jones Carter. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Terry Lynn Carter. 

To cherish his memory he leaves behind his wife, Sandra Lynn Meadows Carter of the home; a son, D.J. Carter (Jamie) of Whiteville;  siblings, James Larry Carter (Breezy) of Evergreen and Susan (Sue) Carter Mills (Tim) of Leland;  grandchildren, Meredith Carter and Caroline Carter; and a special friend, Sherry Young Barnes of Bladenboro. 

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the burial fund, care of Worthington Funeral Home- PO Box 352 Chadbourn, NC 28431.
