Danny Herring Obituary

On Monday, September 17th, Danny James "Peter D" Herring of Lake Waccamaw, went to be with his Lord and Savior during Hurricane Florence. Danny was born in Pender County on November 8,1952 along with his twin sister Donna, son of the late Eunice Faye Cook Herring and Robert Herbert Herring, Jr. He was also proceeded in death by a brother Robert Herbert "Bobby" Herring, III and a best friend of 62 years Mike "Buddy" Sellers. He was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church in Lake Waccamaw, where he helped with Sunday School and Childrens Church. To cherish his memory he leaves behind two sisters Linda (Wayne) Norris of Wilmington and his twin sister Donna Jane Herring Council of Lake Waccamaw. A loving Uncle to Eddie Norris, Christie Augst, Terrie Easterling, Robert Summersett, Lori Hewett, and Laura Clemmons and Uncle D to 11 great nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held 1:30pm-3pm, Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn, NC with the funeral service starting at 3pm in the Chapel, officiated by Pastors Terry Green and Matt West. Burial will be at Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery, 4124 Mt. Misery Road, NE, Leland, NC.
