Mrs. Dalmas D. Johnnie Sanderson Blackwell, age 95 of Cerro Gordo died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at home. Final rites will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Simmons and Rev. Bill Green. Interment will follow in the Gowan Cemetery, Cerro Gordo. She was the widow of Clarence Lee Blackwell and the daughter of the late John D. and Rosella Jane Bell Sanderson. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Dennis Blackwell; a daughter, Barbara Lee Kinsey; and six siblings, Walter Sanderson, Naomi S. Kirby, Nettie S. Dickson, Retha S. Bullard, Violet S. Boyette, and Alma S. Jones. . She is survived by two daughter, Betty Jane B. Sealey of Florence, SC and Martha B. Hayes of Cerro Gordo; a son, Elroy Blackwell of Matthews; a brother, William Billy Sanderson of Columbia, SC; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
