Dallie “Dale” Lee (Nobles) Godwin

Dallie “Dale” Lee Nobles Godwin, age 94 of the Beaverdam Community in Chadbourn, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her precious family.

Dale, as she was lovingly known, was born on November 6, 1926, in Columbus County, to the late William Vance and Lurmie Strickland Nobles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonzie Godwin; a granddaughter, Lorena LaDale Shelley and her sister, Lillie Mae Nobles.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Buddy Seay officiating. Interment will follow in the Mercer Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:45, prior to the service on Thursday.

Dale was a member of Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church, which she attended faithfully while her health allowed her to do so.  She was a hard worker and faithful homemaker.

To cherish her memory, Dale leaves behind her beloved children, Gary Dean Godwin and wife, Ann, of Chadbourn, Diana Godwin Shelley and husband, Kenith, of Chadbourn; grandchildren: Crystal Godwin McGirt and husband, Timothy, Chasity Godwin Fowler and husband, Brad, Lonzie Len Shelley and wife, Carol; great-grandchildren, Chandler Fowler, Easton Fowler, and Ryder Shelley.
