Dahleaskee Charles Climbingbear

Dahleaskee Charles Climbingbear, 68, of Cherokee and formally of Chadbourn, died on Friday, November 3, 2023, in Cherokee, NC. 

Charles was born on February 8, 1955, in Whiteville, NC, son of the late Henderson Climbingbear and Idell Hammonds Climbingbear.  He was also preceded in death by four siblings, Isaac Climbingbear, Jimmy Hammonds, Eli Climbingbear and Billy Joe Hammonds.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in the Chapel of Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Hammonds-Locklear Cemetery (928 Clarendon-Chadbourn Road, Chadbourn). 

Surviving family includes a daughter, Melody Climbingbear of East Orange, NJ; siblings, Maria C. Graham of Greenville, SC, Micky Hammonds of Lake Placid, FL, Bobby Hammonds of Chadbourn, NC, Carson Hammonds of Fayetteville, NC; and two grandchildren, Tyshelle Hunt and Sean Harris.
