Mr. Clempson Clemp Green, age 81 of Cerro Gordo died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Neill Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery with Masonic rites. He was the son of the late John Wesley and Frankie Coleman Green and was preceded in death by five siblings, Nancy Norris of Clarendon, Johnny Green, Hewitt Green, Mack Green and Cecil Green all of Cerro Gordo. He was a member of the Chadbourn Masonic Lodge #607 and a faithful member of Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church. Mr. Green was a retired farmer and prominent businessman where he was the manager of Jimmy Green Warehouse for many years where he also served as manager of Kaiser Fertilizer in Chadbourn, former co-owner of Wallace-Green Oil and Gas in Cerro Gordo, and a former co-owner of Square Deal Warehouse in Chadbourn. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Uldene Williamson Green of the home; a son, Jamie Green and wife, Cathy of Cerro Gordo; four daughters, Donnice G. Smith and husband, Jerry of Cerro Gordo, Vickie G. Williamson and her late husband, Rickey H. of Ocean Isle Beach, Janet G. McCall and husband, Wade of Sunset Harbor, and Regina G. Lyles and husband, Ray of Shallotte; brothers, Buddy Green of Cerro Gordo and Roger Green of Wilmington; sisters, Florence G. Strickland of Cerro Gordo, Polly G. Cribb of Wilmington, Betty G. Blackwell of Cerro Gordo, and Peggy G. Sorrell of Cerro Gordo; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church, Cerro Gordo, NC 28430. Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
