Charles Thomas Butler Sr.

Charles Thomas Butler, Sr., died on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at his residence.

Charles was born on April 5, 1933 in Columbus County to the late Henry Floyd Butler and Elizabeth Bertrum Yates Butler. He is also preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Marqueen Butler, a daughter Gail Butler Hayes, and a grandson Floyd "Scratch" Butler .

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by three children, Floyd Thomas Butler, Raymond Henry Butler and wife, Candace and Charles "Chuck" Thomas Butler, Jr. and wife, Terri all of Chadbourn; 11 grandchildren, Kalah Butler Caffee (Lance), Laura Butler, David Butler (Dianna), Jeremy Butler (Crystal), Seth Butler (McCoy), Sherrie Butler (Jason King), Kimberly Butler (Derick Evans), Charlie Butler, Charles Wayne Butler, Shane Goins, Tommy Heath Goins;  14 great-grandchildren Berkleigh Caffee, Brianna Turbeville, Brinkley Butler, Coley Evans, Ray Lynn Evans, Braxton Butler, Hannah Goins Register, Chandler Goins, Autumn Butler, Dawson Butler, Camden Butler, Hayden Butler, McKinlee Butler, Ann Marie Butler; and great-great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Tiegan, Rowyn, Easton, Kaylynn, Camden, Waylon, Leah, Peyton, Renleigh, and Tatum.
