Obituary
On Friday, April 28, 2023, Brenda Kay Hilbourn of Cerro Gordo entered eternal peace at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
Brenda was born on January 7th, 1951 to Inez Nobles Long and Nolan Long.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Hilbourn, special friend, Tommy Walters, and sisters, Evelyn Ward, Doris Strickland, Velma Spruill, and Debbie Etheridge.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Worthington Funeral Home, with Reverend Tim Moore and Reverend Corey McPherson officiating. Interment will follow in the Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.
The family will speak to friends from 1:30-2:45 p.m., prior to the service on Monday.
Brenda was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered for her lively personality, incomparable work ethic, and love for her family and flowers.
To cherish her memory, Brenda leaves behind her son, Donnie Hilbourn, his wife, Amber, granddaughter, Brittany Ross (Collin), great-granddaughter, Kinley Ross, brother, Nathan Long (Barbara), and many special nieces and nephews.
