Bonnie Faye Hilbourn Strickland, age 82 of Fountain Lane, Whiteville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the Lower Cape Fear Angel House in Whiteville, with family by her side.
Bonnie was born on July 5, 1940, in Columbus County, daughter of the late Leroy Hilbourn and Margaret Marie Walker Hilbourn. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Dawson, Gladys Watts, and Bobby Hilbourn.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jay Rivenbark officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
Bonnie was a charter member of Northwood Church in Whiteville. Bonnie along with her husband, Joe owned and operated Whiteville Bumper, Glass, and Auto Body Parts for over forty years, retiring in 2000.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Allen Strickland of the home; children, Wanda Kay Strickland Ward (David), Rowena Faye Strickland Suggs (William), Regina Lynn Strickland Greene (Chris), Joseph Allen “Mark” Strickland, II, all of Whiteville; siblings, Robert Hilbourn (Wanda) of Whiteville, Rudy Hilbourn (Faye) of Evergreen, Cecil Hilbourn of Whiteville; six grandchildren, Laci Williams Hardin (Justin), Morgan McCumbee McDevitt (Nathan), Teddy Williams (Elizabeth), Hali McCumbee Hood (Nathan), Justin Ward and Samantha McCumbee (Chris); and twelve great-grandchildren, Jennings Hardin, Fisher Hardin, June Elise Hardin, Georgia Grey Hardin, Parker McDevitt, Quinn McDivitt, Carson Royal, Ayden Strickland, Laney Strickland, Brody Strickland, Nash Ward and Noxx Ward.
