Blanchie Cartrette Obituary

Blanchie Retha Morgan Cartrette, age 93 of Chadbourn went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at China Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Danny Williams officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. She was the daughter of the late Lettie Mae Spivey Morgan and Henry Mayo Morgan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; two sons, James Batchelor, Jr. and Harvey Dean Batchelor (infant); step-daughter, Deborah Faye Slater; siblings, Lula M. Spivey, Belle M. McKenzie, Clara R. Harrelson, Alton Morgan and Annie Spivey; and eight grandchildren. She is survived by seven children, Ann B. Reaves (Frankie) of Nakina, Dianne B. Ballard (Rex) of Bat Cave, Judy B. Hammonds (Frankie) of Clarendon, Shirley B. Nobles (Dempsey) of Chadbourn, Helen B. Sasser (Willie) of Hallsboro, Sue B. Bullard (Randy) of Whiteville, and J.D. Batchelor (Rita) of Whiteville; step-child, Jean B. Norris of Whiteville; 21 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
