Betty Caroline Freeman Lennon passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026.  


She was born September 19, 1934 in Bladenboro, N.C.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Boyce Lennon of Evergreen, N.C.  


Betty was a member of Lennon's Crossroads Baptist Church and retired from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) after 32 years of service.  


She is survived by a son, Leon Boyce Lennon, Jr. and his wife, Michelle Lennon of Evergreen, N.C. and a daughter, Lamonica Lennon Yates and her husband, Brad Yates of Conway, S.C. and sisters Doris Clark and Mary Jane Hester of Bladenboro, N.C.  Her immediate family also includes four grandchildren, Heather Hall and spouse Thomas Hall, Bradley Yates and spouse Monica Yates, Lee Lennon and spouse Kelly Lennon, Zack Yates and spouse Jackie Yates and seven great-grandchildren, Caroline Britt, Hartleigh Britt, Jax Lennon, Ro Yates, Logan Yates, Mary Beck Lennon Yates and Jaxson Todd.


Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Singletary Cemetery in Bladenboro.
