Betty Sue (Long) Barkley

Betty Sue Long Barkley, age 72 of Lumberton and formerly of Whiteville, peacefully slipped into eternity on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family. 

Betty was born on March 19, 1950, to the late Leamon Long and Minnie Rogers Long.  She was the widow of William Lee Barkley who preceded her in 1995.  She was also preceded in death by brothers, Earl Long, James Aaron Long, J.W. Long and Junior Long.

Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2022 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Priest and Reverend Larry Priest officiating.  Interment will follow in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.

To cherish her memory she leaves a son, Joshua Lee Barkley (Kayla) of the home; three sisters, Dorothy L. Robbins (Carl) of Whiteville, Shelia L. Gore (Robert) of Tabor City and Lee L. Watkins of Baltimore, MD; two grandchildren, Christian Barkley and Noah Barkley
