Bettie Jane (Campbell) Redwine Obituary

“I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course;
I have kept the faith.” (II Timothy 4:7)


On Sunday December 7th at approximately 4:00 a.m., our devoted mother and sister peacefully slipped into the arms of our merciful God to rest.


Bettie Jane Campbell Redwine was born October 16, 1949, and was the daughter of the late John Hugh and Berley Gurnell Mitchell Campbell of Lake Waccamaw, NC.


Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at St. James Missionary Baptist Church; Pastors Curt Locklear and Michael Jacobs will officiate.  Interment will follow in the St. James Memorial Cemetery.


Visitation will be from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday, at the church. 


At an early age, Bettie accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Lake Waccamaw, NC. She was a faithful member of the W.M.U. and Mission Committee for many years as long as her health permitted. She also served as treasurer for the Adult Sunday School Class for a number of years.


Bettie worked with the HUD housing development serving many members of Columbus County with housing assistance.  She retired with 32 years of service as department manager.


Leaving to cherish her memory is a caring family: son, Jerome Redwine (Fran) of Lake Waccamaw, NC; a brother: John Monroe Campbell (Ruby) of Southport, NC; three sisters: Delsey Brewington (Johnnie) of Clinton, NC; Sandra Moore (Carthel), Patricia Andrews (Darrell) of Lake Waccamaw, NC. She was preceded in death by a sister Nancy Campbell. A granddaughter Hannah Redwine (Malachi) of Bolton, a grandson Gabe Freeman; great grandchildren Tayen Moore, Zyler Moore and a boundless list of nieces and nephews and other relatives and special friends.
