Mrs. Bernice Strickland Nobles, Age 82 of Cerro Gordo died Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center in Whiteville. Final Rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Fairfax officiating. Interment will follow in the China Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Hardy and Etta Coleman Strickland and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Estelle Strickland Green and Hilda Strickland Ward. She was employed by the Columbus Count Health Department until her retirement several years ago. She is survived by her daughter, Genevieve Nobles Price and husband, Byron of Jonesboro, GA. Memorial may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center, 206 Warrior Trail Drive, Whiteville NC 28472. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
