Mr. Ben Nance Floyd, age 74 of Riegelwood died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Whiteville. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Martin Benton and Reverend Donald Horn officiating. Interment will follow in the Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery. He was the son of the late Walter and Minta Nance Floyd and was preceded in death by two siblings, Billy Floyd and Clint Floyd. Mr. Floyd retired from International Paper in 1997 after forty years of service. He is survived by his wife, Dovie Jean Blackwell Floyd of the home; a daughter, Pam F. Sellers and husband, Ken of Lake Waccamaw; sons, Jeff Floyd of Red Springs, Benjy Floyd and wife, Melody of Riegelwood, and Kris Floyd and wife, Donna of Hampstead; brothers, Jerry Floyd of Chadbourn, Lindy Floyd of Charlotte, and Joe Floyd of Riegelwood; grandchildren, Ryan Sellers, Victoria Sellers, Hillary Floyd, Haley Floyd, Jacob Floyd, and Jordan Floyd. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
