Anthony Lynn Hardie, age 48 of the Mollie Community in Whiteville, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC.
Anthony was born on August 29, 1972 in Columbus County. He was the son of the late Milton Earl Hardie and Carrie Jane Hinson Hardie.
Anthony honorably served his country in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm, and later was employed by the Tabor Correctional Institution for 13 years, during which he held rank and title of Lieutenant.
Final rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the McPherson Cemetery, in the Beaverdam Community; Reverend Dr. Marcus Hovis, Chaplain of Tabor City Correctional Institution, will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior the service.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Skipper Hardie of the home; a daughter, Dravyn Lynne Hardie of the home; a son, Austin Leigh Hardie of South Carolina; step-children, Sawyer Slade Skipper and Donathan Alan Dean Spivey both of the home; two grandchildren.
