Mr. Alvey Rudolph Phillips, age 60 of Tabor City died Wednesday, March 03, 2010 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Nealy officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City. He was the son of the late William and Effie Ward Phillips and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Waylon Phillips and Scarlett Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Ann Nobles Phillips of the home; daughters, Merita Phillips of Loris, SC, Linda P. Miller of Tabor City and Jennifer Phillips of Tabor City; sons, Kenneth Phillips of Kingsport, TN and William Eugene Phillips of the home; step-sons, Stephen Earl Jenrette, II of Chadbourn and Randy Lee Jenrette of Tabor City; step-daughter, Monica Faye Nobles of Clarkton; brothers, Burris Phillips, Alfred Phillips, Bo Phillips, Marvin Phillips, Richard Phillips and Mitchell Phillips all of Tabor City; sisters, Haven Beasley, Melba Nealy and Willa Ward all of Tabor City; 14 grandchildren. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
