Mr. Alton Bridger Rogers, age 83 of Cerro Gordo died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Archie Paul Bullard officiating. Interment will follow in the Tyson Cemetery, Cerro Gordo. He was the son of the late Eddie Robert and Hortense Martin Rogers. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie R. Payne and a sister, Louise Kellihan. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Williams Rogers of the home; daughters, Connie R. Brown of Trinity, Norma R. Hayes of Cerro Gordo, Sandra Lee Reynolds of Trinity, and Doris Ann Parrot of Charlotte; a son, Charles E. Rogers of Dublin; step-daughter, Bessie Hammond of Fair Bluff; sisters, Doris Todd of Lexington, Gladys Jowers of Hemingway, SC; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. No service information has been added.
