Mr. Albert Al Leon Dawsey, age 80 of Whiteville died Friday, April 16, 2010 at his residence. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 in the Chapel at Jones Place Apartments in Whiteville with Reverend J.C. Robinson officiating. He was the son of the late Eleck Wilson and Guila Harrelson Dawsey and was preceded in death by five siblings, his twin brother, Talbert Dawsey, Hulon Dawsey, Melvin Dawsey, Hal Dawsey and Doris D. Capps. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. He had retired from Century Care Resthome in Whiteville. He is survived by his wife, Mazie Peggy Ann Long Dawsey of the home; son, Albert L. Buster Dawsey, Jr. of Easley, SC; daughter, Pat Cooper of Greenville, SC; step-sons, Gregory Fowler and Jeffrey Fowler both of Tabor City; step-daughters, Cheryl F. Seals of Loris, SC and Elizabeth Todd of Whiteville; brother, Eleck Dawsey of Clearwater, Fl; sisters, Margie D. Summersett of Whiteville, Betty D. Britt, Mary D. Hammonds and Carolyn D. Simmons all of Chadbourn; several grand and great-grandchildren. No service information has been added.
