Aaron Vance “Jake” Butler, age 86 of Bladenboro, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday evening, December 30, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Jake, as he was affectionately known, was born on February 16, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Christopher Butler, and his siblings, Earl Todd, Junior Todd, James “Tennie” Todd, Luke Todd, and two infant brothers.
He honorable served his country in the United States Army.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Owen Cemetery in Bladenboro; Reverend Arthur Smith will officiate.
To cherish his memory, Jake leaves behind his beloved wife, Dorothy Jean Brown Butler of the home; three children: Melodie B. Dorsey and husband, Weldon, of Leland, Laurinda Butler of the home, Jennifer B. Nance and husband, Duayne, of Hayes, VA. His siblings include Lacy Todd of Clinton, Allen Todd of Clinton, Mary Jane Blackburn (AD) of Clinton, McNeil Todd of Abbottsburg, Ben Todd (Rose) of Bladenboro, and Monroe Todd (Vonn) of Arizona; five grandchildren, Shannon Dorsey ( Vanessa), Jill Dorsey, Ashley Green (Noah), Kayla Unangst (Cody) and Daniel Butler (Ashley); ten great-grandchildren; Mason, Zachary, Alaina, Blake, Kinleigh, Gavin, Dillon, Rivers, Leah and Leighton.
