Tate Soles, Jr. Obituary
Tate Council Soles, Jr., age 74 of Whiteville passed on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Shoreland Heath Care and Retirement in Whiteville. He was the son of the late Tate Council Soles, Sr and Lorraine Lovette Soles. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lana S. White. Visitation will be held from 1:00 -2:15 pm on Saturday in the Worthington Memorial Chapel in Chadbourn, with a graveside service following in the Gore Family Cemetery in Clarendon. Pastor Jimmy Strole will be officiating. Tate was a lifetime car dealer and transporter of vehicles in Columbus County and the surrounding areas for over 50 years, until his retirement in 2017. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Phipps Soles of Whiteville; two children, Rhonda S. Nealey of Ash and Courtney Soles of Whiteville; a brother, Danny Soles of Clarendon; three grandchildren, Brook Schumacher, Ronna Simmons and Maddox Soles; and three great-grandchildren.
