Rossie Carter Obituary

Rossie Earl Carter age 92 of Chadbourn, began resting in the arms of Jesus on Monday Morning, July 29, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville. A native of Columbus County, Rossie was the son of the late Quincey Steven Carter and Lillie Jane Bowen Carter. He was the widower of Bernice Ruth Simms Carter and was also preceded in death by his siblings, Haynes Lennon Carter, Joseph William Carter, Hazel Carter Hargrove, Henry Elmore Carter, John P. Carter, Annie Neil Carter Travassos, Pearl Louise Carter Suggs, Alice Ruth Carter Horne. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 in the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel in Chadbourn. Visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. Mr. Carter was a veteran of the United States Army, having honorably served in World War II. He was a member of Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include his son, Edwin ONeil Carter of Chadbourn; two grandchildren, Samuel Earl Carter, Joseph Earl Carter and a host of extended family. Worthington Funeral Home is serving the family.
