Robert Elliott Rogers

Robert Elliott Rogers, age 77 of Evergreen went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Lifecare Center in Whiteville. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Rogers Family Cemetery in Evergreen with Reverend Dewayne Lambeth officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. He was employed in the paving industry for over 45 years with Crowell Construction, Apex Construction, and Barnhill Construction. After retiring he returned home and enjoyed farming. He honorable served his country in the United States Army. He was the son of the late Maybelle Williamson Rogers and William Robert Rogers and was also preceded in death by a step-son, Billy Ray Brisson; four siblings, Dallas Wayne Rogers, Roy A. Rogers, Tommy Gene Rogers and Shirley Rogers Oliver. To cherish his memory his wife, Paulette Louise Butler Rogers of the home; two sons, David Robert Rogers (Lupita) of Tyler, TX and Keith Elliott Rogers (Leann) of Evergreen; two sisters, Frances R. Gause and Doris R. Taylor (Ted) both of Lumberton; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
