Richard Bartrop Obituary

Richard Glenn Bartrop, age 85 of Cerro Gordo, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Monday, January 28, 2019, at his residence. Born in North Platte, NE on November 19, 1933, he was the son of the late Lew D. Wonderling and Augusta Seide Bartrop-Burk. He was the husband of the late, Margaret Williamson Bartrop, who preceded him on January 16, 2019 after 65 years of marriage. Also, preceding Richard in death were his siblings, Betty Jane Wicklund, John Maxwell Taylor, Charles Darrell Bartrop, and Arden Eugene Bartrop. Richard honorably served his country in the US Navy, for 22 years and proudly served in the Korean and Vietnam War. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Worthington Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. David Sneltz officiating. Interment will follow in the Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. Survivors include five children, Theresa W. Fowler of St. Petersburg, FL, Debra W. Harris of Clarkton, Lew Bartrop of Bolton, Donna B. WIilliamson, St. Petersburg, FL, and Glenn Bartrop of Cerro Gordo; 13 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren, and a niece, Sandy Sue Miller of Canton, MI. A service of Worthington Funeral Home, Chadbourn.
