Merle Regan Obituary

Merle Marie Edwards Regan, age 88 of Chadbourn, took her heavenly flight on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Whiteville, while surrounded by her beloved family. A native of Columbus County, Ms. Merle was born on June 29, 1930 to the late Algie Carltou Edwards and Carrie Lee Nobles Edwards. Also, Ms. Merle was preceded in death by her late husband, Jean Edward Regan and her son, Duane Regan. Merle was employed by United Carolina Bank (BB&T) for 20 years until her retirement in 1995. Final rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend David Crumpler officiating. Interment will follow in Columbus Memorial Park in Whiteville. The family will receive friends 10:00 am until time of the service on Saturday. Ms. Merle leaves behind two children, Edward Regan of Chadbourn, Karen Regan Edwards and husband, Steve of Chadbourn; sister, Connie H. Crawford of Chadbourn, and one beloved grandson, Matthew Regan Edwards.
