Merle Butler Obituary

Merle Joyce Bullock Butler, age 85 of Whiteville passed on Sunday September 16, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Barren E. Nobles officiating. Interment will follow in Columbus Memorial Park, Whiteville. The family will receive friends 1:30 pm until time of the service on Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home. She was the daughter of the late Bedie Katherine Ford Bullock and Joel Alfred Bullock. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Howard Bullock, Celia Bullock Childers McGariety and an infant brother, Broadus Bullock. She is survived by two sons, Michel Edwin Butler and Marty Erwin Butler both of Whiteville; two daughter, Sharon Waldron of Asheboro and Catherine Gerald of Whiteville; three siblings, Myra Keel of Raleigh, Marvel DeVane of Greenville and Joel E. Bullock of Chadbourn; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
