Mamie Spaulding Obituary

Mamie Eileen Patrick Spaulding, age 85, of the St. James Community of Lake Waccamaw, entered into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville. Born in Columbus County on the 8th day of August in 1933, she was the daughter of the late Luke Earl Patrick, Sr. and Mamie Webb Patrick. Mrs. Spaulding was preceded in death by a son, Osceola Homer Spaulding in 1985 Mrs. Spaulding was employed as a nursing assistant in the Healthcare Industry for many years. Survivors include her husband, Homer Lee Spaulding of the home; a daughter, Nakoma Spaulding Simmons of the home; a son, Wakita DeWayne Spaulding of Red Springs; her siblings, Burma Patrick of Buckhead, Luke Earl Patrick, Jr. of Buckhead, Lillie Patrick King of Elizabethtown, Carolyn Patrick Ketchum of Ladson, SC, Clyde Ray Patrick of Buckhead, Jane Patrick Jackson of Roseboro; five grandchildren, Brittany Schulman, Ervin Simmons, Gina Simmons, Cintara Spaulding and Malita Spaulding; and two great-grandchildren, Corrina Shuman and Jerod Schulman. Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Christopher Webb, Pastor Curt Locklear and Mr. Norman Spaulding officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the St. James Memorial Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn is serving the family. Interment following funeral service: Tuesday April 16, 2019 St. James Cemetery, Lake Waccamaw, N.C
