Leroy Honeycutt Obituary

Leroy David Honeycutt, age 89 of Chadbourn went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Chadbourn Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service at the church. He was the son of the late Martha Walker Nance Honeycutt and John Henry Honeycutt, Sr. and was also preceded in death by seven siblings, J.H. Honeycutt, Jr., Charles Phillip Honeycutt, Beatrice H. Avant, Alice H. Treadway, Martha H. Dalton, William "Bill" Franklin Honeycutt and an infant sister. He was a devoted member at Chadbourn Baptist Church for 69 years where he served as a deacon and a reliable greeter at the church. Mr. Honeycutt was a co-founder of J.H. Honeycutt & Sons Produce in Chadbourn; a member of Chadbourn Fire and Rescue Department for over 65 years where he also served currently on the board of directors of the Klondyke Fire Department. To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of 69 years, Doris Jewell Butler Honeycutt of the home; a daughter, Ann Honeycutt of Chadbourn; two grandchildren, Mark Peterson and Julie Nobles and her husband, Greg all of Wilmington; and one great-granddaughter, Mia Grace Nobles of Wilmington. Memorials may be made to Chadbourn Baptist Church, 405 Howard Street, Chadbourn, NC 28431.
