Kathleen Powers Strickland

Nancy Kathleen Powers Strickland age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove in Wilmington, NC on July 6, 2018.

Kathleen Strickland of Clarkton, NC was born September 26, 1923 to the late Javie and Mary Powers. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Beamon Strickland; siblings, Lonnie, J.R., Johnny, Robert Powers, Alma P. Bullard, Eula P. Jackson, Thelma P. Horne and Rosie P. Kinlaw. She was also preceded in death by a daughter.

She was a most precious loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She dearly loved people and was very hospitable and caring. If you visited her home you always had to eat and leave with a gift. She had a varied career which included the clothing manufacturing industry, restaurant owner and operator, dietician and farming. She was a member of Whites Creek Baptist Church in Clarkton and a loyal member of the Order of the Eastern Star in the Elizabethtown Chapter.

To cherish her memories, she leaves her children, Alice Strickland Osbourne of Fayetteville, Martha Strickland King and her husband, Andrew of Wilmington, Eddie Beiber Strickland of Loris, SC, Guy Strickland and wife, Marie of Leland; a sister, Elizabeth Callihan of Bladenboro; her grandchildren, Lee Osbourne, Amy Osbourne Karcher and husband, Andy, Andy King, Dr. Jennifer King Renshaw and husband, J.B., Eddie "Beiber" Strickland, Jr. and wife, Samantha, Timmy Strickland and wife, Kimber, Aaron Strickland and wife, Katy, Karen Strickland Thrift and husband, David; her great-grandchildren, Drew, Logan, Annabelle, Kristopher, McKenzie, Lilly, Annie, Veronica, Finn.

We have a peace in knowing she loved the Lord with all her heart and lived a very full life of 94 years with many roles. Today we are sure she is enjoying heaven and our lives are sweeter because of her.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Worthington Funeral Home, Chadbourn, NC officiated by Reverend Warren Hill and Reverend Terry Green. Entombment will be at Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lee Osbourne, Eddie Strickland, Jr., Buster Harrelson, Jerry Willoughby, Larry Willoughby and Edward Kinlaw.

Visitation will be on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Worthington Funeral Home.
