Kathleen Simmons Horne

Kathleen Simmons Horne, age 94 of Whiteville, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville, NC. A native of Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Asberry "Bud" Simmons and Louvenia Garrell Simmons. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Floyd Simmons, Donald Ray Simmons, and Pauline Hinson. Final Rites will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Willard McPherson officiating; visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00, prior to the service on Monday. A private interment will be held. Survivors include her children, Kathryn Gail Smith (Chris) of Costa Mesa, California, Sandra Bass Sorrell of Whiteville, Deborah Bass McKeithan of Whiteville, James Kenneth Bass (Melissa) of Hope Mills; step-son, Grady Horne (Elaine) of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Jamie Hayes (Rowena), Melissa Matthews (Jeremy), Drew McKeithan (Lesley), Noel McKeithan, Aaron Bass, Crystal Dial, Tara Dial, Marissa Eason, Harley Brewington, Houston Horne and Kevin Horne; great-grandchildren, Nathan Jackson, Jacob Jackson, Adam Eid, Ayden McKeithan, Aniston McKeithan, Baylee Lee, Chloe Lee, Ella Matthews, Marley Matthews, Keelan Brown, Nolan McDowell, Collin McDowell, Kenston Campbell; siblings, Gladys Simmons Morris of Lake Waccamaw, J.E. Simmons (Hilda) of Chadbourn.
