Juanita Duncan Strickland, age 85 of Clarendon and formally of Cerro Gordo, passed away late Tuesday Evening, June 4, 2019 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville, NC.
A native of Columbus County, Juanita was born on October 8, 1933 to the late Luther Duncan and Hannah Stalvey Duncan. Along with her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Strickland; children, Linda C. Jacobs, Alton C. Cribb; siblings, Berris J. Duncan, Geneva Cannon, Alice Duncan, Ivey Duncan, Ila Rhodes.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Worthington Funeral Home, with Burial to follow in the Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Roger Coffey will officate the service.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00, Friday Evening at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
Ms. Juanita was a seamstress in textiles for over 45 years. Mrs. Juanita was employed by Stones’ Manufacturing. She worked diligently to provide for her family. She enjoyed life and loved her family dearly.
Survivors include a son, Chris Strickland of Ocean Isle Beach; daughter-in-law, Kathy Cribb of Nakina; brother, Charles W. Duncan of Lexington; grandchildren, Joseph “Lil Joe” Jacobs, III, David Jacobs, Dylan Insignares, Christian Hanna Strickland; great-grandchildren, Jessie Reece Jacobs, Will Jacobs, Greenley Jacobs, Zachary Jacobs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be addressed to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House or to the American Cancer Society.
