John Barnhill Obituary

John Ellison Barnhill, age 89 of the Mt. Calvary community in Clarkton, peacefully slipped into rest on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at his home, while surrounded by his loving family. Born in Evergreen, NC on October 25, 1929, he was the son of the late Hubert Lee Barnhill and Adeline Fields Barnhill. Mr. Barnhill was also preceded in death by his siblings, Sandra B. Strickland, Gail B. Strickland, Alice B. Spinosa, and Rembert Barnhill. Mr. Barnhill heroically served the United States in the Army, while stationed in Korea. To cherish his memory, Mr. Barnhill leaves behind his children, Connie Barnhill Deaton and husband, James of Myrtle Beach, John Kelly Barnhill of Clarkton, Robin B. Beyer of Clarkton; sister, Christine B. Kirschner of Myrtle Beach; 44 Grandchildren, several Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Worthington Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary OFW Baptist Church Cemetery, Clarkton. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 (Prior to the service) on Monday. Interment following funeral service: Monday, March 11, 2019
